Membership is open to anyone who supports the philosophy and principles of RID.
Our memberhship cycle begins October 1st of each year.

Membership Categories

Certified - $35 /year
Individuals currently certified by RID through the National Testing System.
Includes $10 CMP fee.

Associate - $25 /year
Individuals engaged in interpreting or trasliterating but not holding RID certification.

Student Interpreter - $20 /year
Individuals who are enrolled in full time in an interpreter training program.

Supporting - $20 /year
Individuals, organizations and agencies who support GVR RID but do no engage in interpreting or transliterating activities.

Receive advance notice of workshops offering state-of-the-art information from locally and nationally recognized leaders.

Discounts on most GVR RID sponsored workshops.

Maintain your RID certification with independent study opportunities. GVR offers continuing education units (CEUs) for independent studies for members only at no additional charge.

Receive the GVReport now published in the Deaf Rochester News (DRN). The GVR RID newsletter keeps you informed of interpreting related issues, and the DRN keeps you informed of events in the Deaf community.

General membership meetings offer opportunities to network, meet colleagues, find team interpreters, and mentors.

Develop you leadership skills and give back to your profession by volunteering for committees, programs and events sponsored by GVR RID.

Voting privileges with National RID. Maintaining dual membership allows you a voice in the leadership of the National RID.
